Mold Assessments

If you’re seeing moisture and/or water damage in your home/office/property, there is a high probability that you have a mold problem. There are many different types and species of mold varying in danger. Some types of molds can be fatal for some people, while others may not be as affected. Either way, it is important to try and address these problems as soon as they arise. The Empire team of certified mold assessors possesses an extensive base of experience and knowledge in assessing mold damage to help you develop an appropriate plan of action.

Mold Background

Molds are a type of fungus that can be found almost anywhere that moisture and oxygen are present as a natural part of the environment. Mold grows outdoors naturally, but indoor mold growth is harmful and can lead to respiratory health concerns.

As it’s currently constituted, there aren’t any federal or state regulations for safe levels of mold indoors. However, any level of mold concentration indoors should be viewed as potentially unsafe conditions.

Assessment & Mold Management

Empire’s in-depth investigations are usually able to determine the root cause of moisture/water that mold issues stem from. We strive to provide methodical solutions to remediate any potential mold threat on the interior/exterior of the building structure.

Some Indoor Issues That Could Lead To Mold:

  • Flooding
  • Plumbing leaks
  • Appliance leaks or poorly ventilated appliances
  • Roofing or foundation leaks
  • High levels of indoor humidity
  • Damp basements or crawlspaces (areas with less sunlight)
  • Poorly ventilated rooms in homes that produce moisture
  • HVAC system leaks/blockages
  • Etc.

If mold is suspected to be present, there are several methods of testing that can be performed and sent to a third-party accredited laboratory for analysis.

Upon receiving analysis, if mold is indeed present, Empire can help facilitate a remediation work plan to remedy the situation. After the remediation is complete, Empire can conduct post-remediation air sampling as clearance.
